Default Yerf 3203 starting problems

So I was out in Prescott az and I finally got my yerf to start and drive after I messed with the carb bolt to take off the bowl. It was also so easy to start. Now after 4 days I get back it starts on the first pull and drives great. Them this morning it was hard to pull so I took the spark plug cap off waited a few seconds then put it back on it started the first pull very easy now it doesn't want to even after I take off the spark plug cap. Please help I'm 12 with not a lot of mechanical expertise but I've picked up a few things here and there it also has the stock tecuamseh ohh65 I think it is motor.

Replace ur sparkplug coil and cap its probably going bad on you. Or its going to leave you stranded one day.

If i understood you right you said you have to remove cap then replace it for it to start..that means something is going on with that coil. You shouldnt have to touch the coil cap everytime you start ur buggy. Just my thought.

Now if your saying that when you take off ur sparkplug cap then put it back on your able to pull start ur motor idk. It dont make sense to me ur cap on the sparkplug has nothing to do with pulling the rope.

I'm new here but from reading what you said i would pull the spark plug out and then put it back into the plug cap( with help from an adult ) and ground the plug end( that goes into the motor) then pull the motor over and see what color spark you have( bright blue is what it should be...orange means you have weak spark ). This could cuase it to be hard to pull over due to it not igniteing the fuel ( no combustion means your feeling the compression of the motor ).If its not that, unscrew the plug cap off of the spark plug wire and cut back the wire and then screw the plug cap back onto the plug wire( just too make sure you have good contact ) because you said that it would start after you took the cap off the plug and then put it back on( it could have made a better connection from being moved around )..If it not any of that replace coil and spark plug.

check the oil in your engine and make sure its not over filled. the reason I say this is you say you took the bowl off the carb. Smell the oil that is in your engine and make sure it doesnt smell like gasoline, or if it looks real thin like its watered down. If the float in your carb. is sticking it would be dumping gas in your oil. that would make it hard to start, and pull.

The spark plug thing doesn't work any more and sometimes I could get it started with starting fluid my dads friend took a look at it a week ago and got it to start easier but couldn't get it started so I messed with it and was able to ride it around for the day it starts on the first pull every time when it actually is easy to pull. I'm starting it on the trailer but when it's off the trailer and you move it for word as your pulling it it gives me no problems.

sounds like you're mainly having a hard time pulling through the compression stroke when it ends up right there one either shutdown or a pull of hte starter cable. as an experiment, try rolling it either forward or back until you feel the engine/tires hit the resistance of the compression stroke, then roll it back the other direction a bit and try pulling.

Would a plug make it hard to start because I cleaned it off with sand paper and it is hard to pull if its just sitting in place not screwed in or any thing and if its not in the whole it's so easy to pull. If its not screwed in and I pull it will fly out of the hole is that normal?

If the plug is not in the hole theres no compression thats why its easy to pull the rope... make sure ur filter is clean and carburator it may be why ur plug has a rich look to it.

Okay but I it is black on the bottom and I mean really black does that mean I should buy a new one and does it being black make it hard to pull.

yes, your plug needs to be tight in the hole--you wouldn't want a ceramic and steel bullet blowing out the top of your engine ....

i'm wondering if your exhaust valve isn't stuck closed if it's so hard to pull start with the plug in.

your exhaust valve is located inside of the motor, the vary top of your motor is called the cylinder head and it houses the cam and valves, that's a big job and shouldn't be attempted by someone who dosent know what they are doing. You could mess up your whole motor. I recommend bringing it to a certified motorcycle mechanic( they might not work on your specific model but will have the genral knowledge of motor to do the job )
