steering rod help
Ok guys the yerf is in trouble again we took it out the otherday and hit a rock with the end of the steering rod and bent it up against the bottom of the kart. how can i keep this from happening again. a skid plate would work but where do i mount it. any suggestions?????

Don't think a skid plate would help unless it was mighty THICK to prevent that type of impact.IMO-I would think a heavier/thicker steering rod would be more practical.

I think I understand now- the end of the steering where both Heims connect. That would be easier to protect - a plate,rod or tube from the A-arm support plate back to the cockpit frame- since it doesn't require a lot of clearance-it's movement is constantly at the same elevation. That was a big rock!!!
