Water Pump Mechanical Seal
is there a way to get the mechanical seal out of a CN250 buggy? My Roketa GK-13 water pump is leaking out of the weep whole so i need a bearing puller to take it out. is it possible to take it out with out one?

Have no idea with one of these but previous experience with other engines. Does it look like the water pump has a separate cover around it that includes some of the water passages/volute? if so, you may have to remove that to be able to work on the "other" side of it. Usually if a water pump is weeping through the hole, it's not just the seal that needs replaced, but the whole pump.

I agree with x-bird sounds like you just need a new seal gasket and no need for removal of the whole pump saving you a ..ll of a lot extra work.I used the black goo that comes in a tube and can be found in auto parts stores.Make sure to scrape off old remaining seal(most likely cardboard or cork)off both pump cover and engine I used a razorblade-spread the goo seal like tooth paste fairly thick on pump cover and around bolt holes on engine and bolt all back together and let dry for 24 hours will set up like silicon and can withstand high tempatures that 250cc's produce. mancoman

a gasket leak is one thing, a drip at the weep hole usually indicates that water's getting by the shaft seal, and at that point, its replacement time as the shaft is usually pitted by then. I've had a pump waiting to go in the wife's outback for about 3 weeks now for the same reason--not a fun one to do either. hmm, subaru or buggy .... ))))
