Default new to american sportworks helix

so today I purchased a used helix 150 that has been sitting for 2 years. I drained the oil and changed, I pulled the carb and disassembled and cleaned completely. I'm currently reinstalling carb. I was want to know everyone's check list before firing after sitting. is there anything other than spark plug? I am picking it up tomorrow.

Drain the gas tank. Replace the fuel filter or add one to the line if it does not have one. Might as well replace fuel line with new clear fuel line also.

Clean and gap the spark plug. While it's out, connect the plug onto the plug wire and lay the tip of the plug on a metallic part of the engine. Crank the engine over and look for spark at the plug. Orange spark means weak coil or bad plug, blue is perfect. No spark at all could be a few things, but I'd replace the plug only first with a brand new one.

Also, I'd spray some wd40 into the spark plug hole to help lube up the piston rings after sitting for a while. Do this before the spark check engine cranking test above.

Thank u. This buggy seems like it going to be a blast. How big a tire can these 8 inch rims hold well.? I am glad to be here. Thank you for the kind words.

Cool

20" is usually stock on most Buggies , although I think the Helix are smaller . Not more than 2" larger is my rule of thumb . Larger decreases your gear ratio , higher top speed / less bottom end torque . Limited choices for 8" tires . Duro used to make a nice 20 x 8 , 22 x 8 Balloon knobby like you used to see on 3 wheelers from the 80's . I put 23" Bear Claws on my King Cobra with no noticeable lack of bottom end , but it has 10" rims .
