my wife is not going to be happy!
I found this today !
Should I ? i think it would be a great upgrade with some fab work for a crossfire that i have thats needing a ring job in about aa few weeks , family rides almost every weekend and also durning the week ! we Like taking them out in the cooler weather down here in Florida ! Parts should not be hard to find for the motor ! Any input! http://fortmyers.craigslist.org/lee/rvs/2808095925.html |

A little on the spendy side. Problem with these, like the odyssey's --no longer made and in the past few years nostalgia has been hitting the 40-somethings who grew up with these. The few good parts out there aside from engine stuff are starting to get unobtanium pricing.

Will have to do some more looking into parts then !
Went and look at it first thing this morning and he wiling to work on the price 450. to 500 i think ! but dont want to pull the trigger until i know more about parts ! Did a compression test while i was thier , 75 psi , need to track down what it should be ! |

That would be a fun toy for sure. I am guessing compression should be in the 140-150 range on the 250R. A while back I was considering finding a 250 Odyssey and using the whole rear portion on my daughters Yerf. I think it would be a simple mod, provide plenty of power and those old 250 Odys are nearly indestructible. I would bet you could find one for the same or less than the 3 wheeler.

No reverse- kick start only!!!! Everyone is correct about parts as I've looked at "many" of these as a possible power plant.

this is mid priced full susp. around here. buy yourself a new one and hand down the old is one way to go. I'd take it if i could, when it comes to mods, it's the consumables and futzy hardware that can add up quickly. |
