Question Which engine to get

Hey guys, I have a 2013 trailmaster xrx I just bought with a blown engine. It was a deal but by now I have find another engine for it. I see a lot of 150 engines online ranging from $275 to $450.

Could someone tell me why the prices range and where you would recommend me to find one. I'd rather have a brand new fresh engine.

Thanks

Well you have cheap knock off engines and good engines which cost more. Your problem is you have the internal reverse engine and new are anywhere from 700.00-900.00. What is wrong with your engine? They can be rebuilt for a lot less than new and for price of a new one you can do some serious upgrades.

I was told it was a broke rod. I don't know if any major block damage was done. What kind of rebuild kit could I get?

Does the engine turn over by hand or using starter?

It could be a piston or cracked cylinder. I have personally experienced a hard knock in my engine which turned out to be a starter clutch. You will have to tear it down to pinpoint the problem. Where in Tennessee are you located.

I'll start tearing it down this week if I get time. Thanks for replying. I'm in the northwestern part.
