A question about rims
I'm wondering if it would be possible to put some rims on my ASW Carbide like the ones in this link? https://teamjoynerusa.3dcartstores.com/Rims_c_26.html

I dont see why not. As long as the lug pattern and offset matches up so everything fits ok. I really dont know though lol

Yeah, they're nice. My favorite are the 007 and the 009.

most of those will match your bolt pattern But if you go to a wheel that big,[12,14 inch] it will screw up your gear ratio. You will have no bottom end power at all and probably fry your clutch as well.

yeah seriously

You could re-gear for that though if you really want them.

Yeah, but that would be a pain in the butt though.

Ya it's all about the bolt pattern initially and then the off sets. Regearing wouldn't be too aweful bad depending on where you do it.

you could regear and make it work but the cost of a custom set of gears woud be more than the wheels cost not including the time and labor to make it work. Plus, with large diameter wheels you would have to offset the fronts so the wheelwon't scub the frame when turning. This could mean new spindles or spacers too. Wouldn't it make more sense to simply get the correct size in the first place?
A 10 inch wheel with a tire circumferance of 22 to 23 inches for the rear is about max you can go without causing problems. 18 t0 19 inches on the front. There are some who run a 25inch tire. for ground clearance. These buggys have modified suspinsions with lots of lowend power and not alot of top speed. They are used for climbing rough mountain terrain. |

I couldn't imagine running a 25 on any of these buggies other than say a stinger or something. AMS machines run a 16/32. Going to a 16/39 with bigger wheels would be pretty cool.
I know on a Helix, you can't really go much over stock on the fronts. Anything bigger will have it rubbing when turned full left or right. Not sure on a Carbide. |

Well, what about the rims that come with the Carter Bros. Intercepter 250. Could I put those on it?

The Helix actually uses a 4/110 all the way around on 8" rims. The problem with the fronts is the way the frame comes around. You'd have to stick a larger front tire pretty far out to get it to clear. You can do quite a bit with the rears though as they have no obsructions. We used to have one with 20's on a 10" and it looked pretty good. Trying to find a set of those for our current Helix. I'm not sure what the pattern is on a Carbide.

count your axle gear teeth and trans gear teeth. then tell me what size rim and tire you are using now, front and back. Measure the distance from the back of the front hub to the spindle and if you have front brakes. this is to get a final drive ratio and proper offset. Tell me what you hope to improve. more speed? more pulling power, ground clearance or for just for the bling bling factor? I can calculates whats the best wheel/tire size combo for you. then you gotta know your bolt pattern. If it is the 4/110 then just about any wheel out there made for a polaris 4 wheeler, kawasaki or yamaha quad will bolt up. thats alot to pick from. Alot of the china buggies use a 4/110 but I can't remember which ones. It's a common front wheel size. You got to know the sizes that will work for you before you shop around.

I'm only doing this for the looks. I don't want to throw off the gearing, but I'll probably have to regear it if I put new rims on it. I just don't like the way the stock rims look on it.

Have you ever thought of painting them black? Although it may not look as good as those I think they'd look better black. And it would save you the hassle of regearing.

I have the ITP series 7 wheels with 12" x25 tires on my Blade 150 single, and it give me great power out of the hole. When I regeared the final drive for more speed it hurt my top end so I have to refigure the final drive. But the 12" wheels should help bottom end. TOM
