Default Still slow

I have a 6.5 hp Manco Vortex kart/buggy and after some up grades it still only goes 25 mph and does not have any torque or pep to make it up inclines.
I bought an after market exhaust and Uni air filter, I then decided to bypass the governor ( I removed governor linkage and made a direct connection from thriottle cable to carb).
Now my Kart just sounds louder, but no increase in performance noted.

Also I notice gas leaking/spilage from carb, mostly noticed after going over rough terrain.
I would appreciate any help at all, Thanks

If you want more torque or pep try upgrading the transmission. Get you a 1.5k or 2k main spring and get a new variator with different rollers/sliders. I noticed a good difference in mine when i first did the Dr Pulley variator and 1.5k main spring. If you want a barely used Dr Pulley i have one im trying to sell.

As far as gas spillage, where do you notice it leaking from? The overflow from the top? The drain in the bottom of the bowl?

I read your other post and found out more about your buggy. It will not work on your buggy.

Sounds like you have a fuel problem, carb shouldnt be leaking. I would suggest you reinstall the govenor linkage. Running without it can let the engine rev higher than it was designed to (blew up a minibike when I was a kid doing that).
