old post but I have one I bought it used and I guess its 5 years old. I replaced the old worn green spring with a new one on the third hole setting. I added a uni filter, a pipe from Robertson Kart Pipes, and larger jets for the carb. A new belt helped a little. other than that not much out for those robin engines at this time. its still a terd I bought a helix and its a much much much better kart, and the scorpion will be for sale as soon as the kids can control the helix, 8 and 10yrs old.

What size is the driven unit? If it's a 7" model then stepping down to the 6" gives you some topend.

Its a 6" and I would want to keep lower gearing and thing over 30 with that sup. and design and you are brave. really poor control steering at high speed and I have checked the entire sup. twice.

You want pics of the 606? its not really worth the time to take them, now the helix is another story.

You could put a built Honda or clone, keep the same shaft size, on it and get +9hp easy but the comet 30 series is rated for only 8 so I wouldn't go much higher. Unless its in absolute top condition, sell that 606 and helix or something like that will run the speed you want. otherwise you will spend more than the price of a used helix or comp. and still be slower.

Dont get me wrong the 606 is a good kart for its design, but the only good thing going for the 606 around my house is that I have the 30 series speed limiter and its something for the kids to ride if I want to ride with them. I call that "better adult supervision" They consider it getting spanked by the Heilx. Even if the 606 was faster I would still drive the helix, the 606 is way too harsh. we don't have a smooth area to ride.
