Default Higher power lights

Is there anyway to make my buggy able to support higher powered lights without having to rig up a battery to power them?

first of all you have to tell everyone what kind of buggy you have.

if it is a stock 150cc you may be able to change to a larger stator and go from there.

Look into LED lights. They will work, but only if your rig has 12V DC power.

I found some on Ebay that are not too bad but I don't know what kind of beam they produce.

Actually the terms watts is used for the amount of power that they consume. Check to see if they have a rating in lumens or candle power. This is the actual measurement for the amount of light that they will produce. Also check to see what the light pattern is. Is the light casting a round beam like a spotlight, or is it directional such as a flatter pattern.

I'm using these... http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-18W-LED-W...cb7739&vxp=mtr

good well built units for the price. Comparable to a middle of the road set of auto riding lights. Excellent light pattern. huge improvement over a pair of standard 35 watt bulbs. At 18 watts apiece. you're using half the wattage out of a 6 pole stator alloted for light power(75 watts). You could run 4 without overloading the charging system
Wire them into a direct battery connection and there won't be a light fluctuation., they'll burn steady and bright.

Those are the ones I have been eyeballing! Guess I will order me a set. Now since my buggy produces DC power, can I just tie into the existing harness from my old lights?

I tried that connecting the leds to the a/c wire from the stock lights and they will flicker and drive you nuts. I just wired the 6 led 18w to the battery with a inline fuse and a rocker switch and they are bright. I am only running one for now.
This our first trip with one led 18w straight to the battery with a switch.
