battery for 250cc?
Hey guys..... This is my 1st post!
Question is, will a 7amp battery work on a 250cc cfmoto? I know that on the manual is asking to use a 9amp battery, but I bought a 7amp battery yesterday because it was on discount. This Kandi buggy is a project and once I got home I installed it to see if the starter would turned, but the only thing that happened was the relay clicking and nothing else. Does it needs the 9amp battery? Or will the 7amp will do it? And maybe there's something else wrong with the buggy that the relay is only clicking. Please Help!!!!! 9A is the minimum battery for a 250cc and most people go to a larger one. Even my 150's ran 12A and 14A batteries.
Your Kandi does not have a CFmoto 250 with LHNR transmission unless you or some did a swap. It uses a CN250 engine that has the same top end and crank as a CFmoto, but everything past that point is different in the CVT and final transmission. |

You're right on the engine. @GX150.
I guess my real question is... will the battery 7amp work or turn the the starter at less for a few times. Because with the 7amp battery the only sound it makes is clickin sound coming from the relay. Could it be the battery with low amp? Today I'm going to jump the starter to make sure ita good and jump the relay as well. |

The 7A battery should be able to turn over your engine if it was fully charged and your power and ground leads are clean.
Try taking jumper cables directly from the battery to the starter to eliminate the possibility of bad wiring or solenoid. If it still does not crank, measure the battery voltage while connected - Anything bellow 10VDC under load, the battery is not charged or it is faulty. If the battery voltage is fine, make sure the engine can be spun over by hand and has no damage. In this case, your starter may be worn and needs to be replaced. |
