Default Mbx we're at it again...new racing dates

kind of been in limbo w/ the racing because my promotional partner has been waiting for consultations and a date for major back surgery. turns out after a phone discussion this past weekend that what he thought would be an easy deal that might keep him down a week or 2 is actually major that if everything goes well , he might be down for 6 months. he is the promoter and handles everything from booking promoting and putting together the event and classes. i basically am the buggy wrangler. i put the buggy classes and rules together and keep the buggy guys in the loop, cosponsor the event donate some raffle prizes and help advertise and promote. given the bad news this past weekend we started trying to find options for the buggies to try and at least keep momentum going til jason returns. you see bikes and quads have options almost every weekend for racing where as buggies do not. this is why i really appreciate jason. he cares about what we are trying to do with the buggies w/out having any invested interest....he loves racing and those who want to. we came up w/ an idea to contact another fla promoter who runs race series all year long. jason knows him so he made the call. i actually went to a sales expo this past week in phoenix from monday to wednesday and by the time my plane landed and i turned my phone back on i had a message from jason that he talked to this other guy , he's in and to call him w/ his phone #. called him thursday when i got back in the shop and he is stoked about having us. he is running a 6 race series that travels, i told him we would probably be good for 3 ( every other race) so he is promoting it as a triple crown for the buggies. very good news. i will talking to kenny , the other promoter next week to iron out all of the details, but so far this could be a very exciting thing for us. i encourage anyone in fla to try and get involved....i promise you one of these races is the funnest thing you might ever do in your buggy, i know it was for me.
the dates we are looking at are the florida tracks and trails race, central florida mx race and the lazy springs race.
any info, rules, updates and even pics and vids of past events.....join the facebook group.......

i will probably be posting this in more than one area, just want it to be seen!

the wife went into round 3 30 points down in 2nd place but was able to have a solid day pulling a 2-1 taking 1st overall for the day and made up 50 points on the leader to take the championship.

Yea! really.. Any closer and I would be there! I can get most anywhere in Florida from Orlando north in 12 hrs. + or - , so a long weekend is doable for me. I don't do Facebook, It's too intrusive for my liking. Is there any other way to get info on the upcoming season?

well this will be the 1st mention of it anywhere but i have been working on a new website for the shop. i wanted to be able to have an online retail presence for a while but i didnt want that to be the only function. i wanted real content on it. my goal has always been to make buggies as legit a powersport as bikes, quads and utv's and MBX is starting to make that happen. the site besides retail will also have a sponsored rider section which will have info and bio's of the kids i sponsor locally as well as updates on how they are doing and an event section which will have where they will be racing as well as MBX scheduling. one thing i just discussed w/ my webmaster just the other day is i want to include an MBX section where pics and stats of all the current competitors will be available as well as the rules, info, results and events will be available. i think that would be really cool for the racers and anyone else who wants to be in the loop.
the site should be up for a soft opening within the next week or so. been working hard on this for the last few months so i'm looking forward to getting it out there!

Sorry, JD. I certainly didn't mean to force your reveling your website by my questions in the previous post, but never the less that is good news and no doubt you and everybody else involved will benefit greatly. I look forewords to the unveiling.

well in about 2 weeks it all starts again, apparently MBX is now a welcomed addition to the I4MX series.
we are set to race 6 date out of 10 with possibly adding a 7th date once a venue is announced for round 8. I for one am excited because most of the guys are getting their ducks in a row and i think that this will be some of the best racing yet. i have done so much engine work and mods to some of these machines that the new buggy i started for myself is getting put on hold til hopefully the second race, so i will be un-retiring the yerf again. as much modding as i have done to that old rat, the stuff that i have been doing to these other machines is quickly making it feel obsolete. should be the close racing i've been wanting to happen since the 1st event's conception.
the big news is that the events will all be live streamed on the national sports broadcasting channel on youtube. this might be one of the single most coolest things to happen for MBX and for buggy exposure in general. i do not know the details completely yet but will keep you posted.

I4MX BUGGY SCHEDULE .............6 DATES
FEB 16TH/17TH Florida CyclePark
MAR 16TH/17TH Bartow Motocross
MAR 30TH/31ST 74 Family Fun Park
APR 27/28TH 74 Family Fun Park
MAY 18TH/19TH Spyder Mx
JUN 29/30TH Bartow Motocross

remember to keep in touch w/ the racing on FB
