Buying tips
Hey guys! I know BuggyMaster has a buying guide and wrote one, it is a bit too long for me to read now...I am leaving to check out the Crossfire 150R soon (
 ), and I read his guide a little while ago...Can anyone do a summary of the critical things to look for?Thanks a million! |

The 150r was HORRIBLE. The thing was probly worth $450... Rust EVERYWHERE the picture didn't cover... The reverse had this weird screeching sound, the gas pedal started working about 1/4 of the way in, and I am not the MOST mechanically savvy person (working on it), I can do quite a few repairs, there is NO WAY I would have been able to make this thing work well enough. Plus, at 6'1, I could barely squeeze into it. LOL.

Make him an offer, and walk away. You would be surprised how many times they will come around to what you offered, then you can try to bargain a little still. I see the same few buggies on our local CL and they will stay there for the price they are asking. $900 for a spiderbox kinda deals.

I told them I was looking at others then left. The main issue with it is that besides the rust EVERYWHERE, there was some reverse gearbox issue, and the starter wasn't working too well, and since it was the Howhit, there wasn't a pull start. I'm just gonna text them tonight and say we found a better one. I'm using the gokart for a science fair project (messing with hydrogen
 ) so I would like it to need little to no repairs to run SMOOTHLY. And for $800, they're nuts. I planned on paying around $600-$750, but I think I'm just gonna hold onto my money for now.

I have a crossfire I would sell in pretty good condition, but it doesn't have and didn't come with reverse. If I keep it I would prob. buy the kit and put it on it.

I don't know why you had a hard time getting in it. My neighbor is about 6'4" 275 lbs. and he has no problems with my 2. Was the seat slid all the way back?

I might chime in as well. My buddies crossfire was comfy compared to my Yerf, and I'm 6'3" ~300lbs. Matter of fact, I'm going to call him and see if he wants to sell.
