roketa gk 06 250cc engine problem
My buggy starts find, runs 5 minutes cuts off, wait 5 minutes it starts back , then same probem over again. Have had this unit nearly 4 years , have had hardly no riding time. I have replaced carb , coil and wire , plug , ign switch , battery. Had new cdi to come , unit would not start with new one but with old one. Suppiler to replace defected new cdi . I need help soneone please reply. Thanks Oldetimer

check your fuel cap
they can cause vapor lock this time of year on my 150 based motor i replaced with a guarden tractor one cheaper than internet lowes/home depot/walmart around $4.00 size was 2 1/4"

You probly got something stuck in the fuel line or filter or your float is to lo

Thanks for your reply. The gas cap that came on the buggy will tighten but has alot of wiggle play from side to side, does it matter if there's no vent hole ? I don't understand vapor lock. The buggy runs like this summer,fall, winter, spring. I am at my whits in with this buggy, as I stated for the past 3 years and 8 months the buggy has only been riden very very little due to this problem. The retailer that I purchased it from closed a few weeks after I bought it. Thanks oldetimer

You may want to take the check balls out of the gas cap vent to see if it helps and here is a pic of the general area you want your valves to be adjusted. Try these 2 scenarios to see if it helps. You also may try some sea foam in the gas to deep clean everything real good.

The gas caps are vented caps, just not like you may be used to seeing where there is a line on the top.
When you replaced the carb, did you replace the choke? Sounds like the choke is not cutting off.

Your probably using fuel faster than the stock system can deliver, common problem. You run for a few minutes until the carb empties, motor stalls, carb slowly fills again , runs good until......
Upgrade your fuel line to a larger size, do the same with the fuel filter. Use a large capacity filter. Use clear line so you can observe the flow. if you have a vapor lock problem you will see gaps in the fuel flow or the line isn't filling up. If you have a vacum operated fuel petcock under the tank [has two hose running to it one hose is gas, one hose from a vacum source to open the valve when the motor starts] Trash it! They are notourious for failing Replace with a manual shut off. Block off the vacum line, You won't need it any more.

The voltage regulator two pigtails , one side female end is very hot to touch, other side male pigtail end also is very hot to touch after a few minutes of running before engine wants to stop running. Just found this out yesterday. Is this normal. Please reply, Thanks oldetimer
