Default HH250 Miss

I have a miss when I get on the gas. Changed the plug, air filter and checked connections. Idea's? Idles fine. But sometimes backfires when you turn it off.
Thanks.

This is bone stock as far as I can see. The gearbox had a bunch of work done to it though. They replaced 2 gears and all the seals. The buggy did sit for 2 years before I bought it. But it was inside and everything looks new.

Yep. Probably got some gas that turned to varnish in that carb. Clean that sucker out and see how it acts.

Make sure you take all the jets out and spray carb cleaner through all the passages. Make sure the jets are clear, too.

It didn't do it the first 4-5 times we went riding? Maybe a piece of varnish broke off and got stuck somewhere. I will clean it out and see. Does the carb require a gasket kit when you break it apart or is it O-ring'd?

Thanks for the help!

YOu don't need a gasket set. I've had mine apart several times and never replaced them. There is a rubber o-ring type gasket on the bowl, but it doesn't need to be replaced. Just be careful taking the bowl screws off, they are soft and tend to strip the heads. Put some pressure on your screwjie when turning them out.

Cleaned the carb but same issue. I have followed out the wiring harness looking for a bare spot but no luck.

Have the valves been adjusted? I would start there.
