Default Uneven spindle mod

I have uneven spindles on my spiderbox. I would like to switch to even and get the BD hubs and wheels for the front. Would it be possible to redrill the ball joint holes to mod spindle to even? My spindles are the heavy duty ones. Just hate to spent the extra in new spindles if I can mod the ones I have.

If you replace the upper arms with long ones, your spindle could be modified.

That's what I thought. I ordered the longer upper arms. So you know if the spindles for even arms have holes in line with each other. I would assume they do.

Yes, even arm spindles have the ball joints lined up with each other. You may need to trim off part of the uneven spindle so it does not interfere with the upper arm upon compression.

New wheels and even arms will be in tomorrow. I went ahead and drilled new holes for the upper arm. Not hard to do. Hopefully everything lines up. If not I was going to have to buy new spindles anyway. Here is a pic. The spindle is upside down.

ups delivered a box of goodies today. I got the new upper arms. Unfortunately they are a fraction of an inch to wide where it bolts into the bulkhead. I am thinking of filing the ends down to fit. I don't want to send them back if I don't have to. It's probably about 1/16th off. I'll call buggy depot tomorrow.

Your bulk head is squished in from using worn bushings. Bend out the corners a little and it will fit.

That's what I did. I called BD and Brandon advised to give the bulk head a few taps to widen the gap. All is good. I'll update my build thread with pics tonight.
