Default gy6 starting issues

i have a hammerhead gt 150 with a gy6 motor and i cant seem to get it to start and it ran just fine before, it will crank over but it has no spark when cranking but when i stop it has momentary voltage from the coil. i have replaced the coil, spark plug, made sure all connections are good, cdi 3 times, regulator, igniting switch, stator, and some wiring from another harness(wiring was identical). i tried a jumper from cdi pin 4 and removed 5. any help would be appreciated.

Welcome=Check your ground-make sure you have a good clean, bare metal ground on the motor & chassis

Could it be low voltage from an old battery? Maybe try hooked up to some jumper cables.

I’ve had a bad ground cable cause similar issues too. It looked fine from the outside but was all green and corroded under the insulation.

Just for ****s and giggles, give the jumper cables a try. And when you hook up the cables to the buggy, put the negative cable on the buggy engine somewhere. If I’m thinking correctly, this will essentially bypass the ground cable on the buggy. I think? Lol

If it works, this will narrow your search finding the problem.

i think i know what the issue is. i found out that there are 2 different cdi boxes through some other forums. one that uses AC current and another that uses DC. i have been using AC when the buggy needs DC so i ordered one and well see if it works.
