Default Easy come, easy go

My wife spotted a 4-wheeler sitting at the side of the road on our street. It was a Kazuma 110 full-size with the plastics laying beside it on the ground. I asked the neighbor next door and he said it had electrical issues and was free for the taking...so I did. I had an extra CDI for my daughters 4-wheeler and I hooked it up and after cleaning the carburator it was running great. I put the plastics back on it and while we were riding it around the yard the neighbor came over wanting to know what was wrong with it. He said him and a buddy spent all day and went through a 12-pack trying to get it going before he set it out at the road. He didn't want it back but said he had a tiny 70cc 4-wheeler that also wouldn't run and asked if I would check it out. He brought it down and I cleaned the carb and got it running. After seeing he had 2 kids I gave him back the 110.

Thanks.
The 110 had a 5-pin CDI, the one I had was 4-pin. It worked but I had to pull the plug wire off the shut it off. I looked up the specs online and found out that the 5-pin is an AC CDI and the 5th pin was to kill the engine (ground). The 4-pin is DC. I was surprised that it worked and didn't ruin my CDI. Probably would have after time. Amazon has the 5-pin CDI for $3.50. He's ordering the right one along with some missing/broken bolts.

I seen the neighbor outside yesterday and rode down to tell him to let me know if he needs help when he gets the parts and he told me his daughter rolled the little 70cc 4-wheeler and broke her arm on Monday. I feel bad for getting it running for them now. I guess no good deed goes unpunished.

Awh, well, I'm sure even though she broke her arm, she'll be back on it when she gets better. You did a good job.
