Default HElp on Shifter linkage BUild (ideas)

Ok I need some ideas on how to build linkage to get my hi-lo-rev....... there is a total of 5 1\2 inches travel..... limted travel I have means to build and weld and manufacture.... I will include pics... if any ony can help with idea be great ohhh motor is a 1984. 200es honda motor...

given that the engine is swingarm mount, i'd go with morse cable off a simple lever handle. hardest part will likely be to make up some sort of detent for each position to prevent accidenmtal shifts.

Ok thank you for the reply..... I am trying cable but the shaft were cable hooks up,but it will hit aft end of transmission,it still moves back 1\4 inch....ill try adding pic I can use cable but I believe I need some type of bellcrank and cable sytem..... it sucks to get out to put in reverse.

Here is a walkaround of a TRX200(same engine) transplanted into a hard tail buggy frame. I know it is a linkage type, but its food for thought, and ohh so pretty.

the traax2 in the vid belongs to mbn member daaboots. there's a little info over there, he didn't do a build thread on that one but i'm sure would hook you up with the info. also metalstudman (he's been "off the grid" awhile) on here has pretty much done essentially what you're working on. http://www.buggymasters.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1290 .... posts 68 and 69 have pics of two of his setups.

fouund his thread on it ... about halfway down is his engine mount crossbar and i'm pretty sure that's his shifter cable threaded into it vertically.

X bird thank you very much on the post about the shifter cable I'm looking for is for hi lo reverse f
Part of it with the bell crank...in all of his post i can not find no mention of it...
