carbide wont start

my starter went out on my carbide and after replacing it the gokart turns over but wont fire, ive checked for spark, and if you squirt alittle gas in the carb it fires right up then dies, any ideas? i think the float is stuck shut but i want more ideas before i open up the carb

Your carb needs cleaned most likely or you aint getting fuel flow to the carb
