driving light addition
i put extra lights on a crossfire and wired them directly to the battery with a relayed fused switch. would the stock stator hold if they are only used for short periods at a time? only say 15 min of riding. just to get back to camp at night. i have replaced the stock headlights with led's and just want a bit more for a short ride.

If you got led lights I think you will be ok.

The added lights are 55 watt driving lights. The stock headlights are now LED. Should I use a second battery for the 55watt ones or will the stator handle them for a short time

I doubt your stock stator will handle the 55 watts. I think the stockers (on my Yerf at least) used 35 watt. Plus you added LED to it also.
If you have or upgrade to a 11 pole stator set up, you should be fine then. You MAY even be good with an 8 pole set up, but I would doubt that. |

xlint what is the worse that would happen? would it burn up the stator or just not recharge the battery?

I imagine it would burn out the regulator
