Which would you rather do?
would you rather
build a buggy from the ground up or build part of one from another frame or just buy one |

There are to many variables to really answer this, but it would all depend on your skill level and resources. My advice for you would be, if you are just starting out, buy a running buggy that you can upgrade as needed.
Good luck. |

I just commented on this same subject on another thread!!! I like building from scratch. -But from experience it's MUCH easier to modify then to do all the calculations/considerations on a "from scratch build" unless you have an engineering background-ask me how I know this!!!!
If you build from scratch don't paint!!! wait and work out all the bugs from test driving before assuming it's a finished product, you'd be amazed how many little tiny brackets and adjustable mounting points it takes to make one servicable. |

I'd like to build from ground up, but not before doing what I'm doing now which is choice "B". Learning from and working around or eliminating others "mistakes" is valuable and if I had gone choice A without doing B, I'd probably have made many expensive and frustrating missteps. Also, to build one the way I'd really like to see one would require as much if not more dollars spent on equipment as the entire rolling chassis.

you can get google sketchup for free. Its a cad typ 3-d programbut youll need to chech all the measurements before you build from it.It told me that 8+8 is 19,so watch that.
but it will help you get an idea of what it will look like and will give you a cut list.
