Default GY6 Buggy Suspension Swap Wheel Bolt Pattern Etc

Hi,

I am looking into doing a front suspension swap for a much more stable, stronger and longer travel suspension. I was looking at both used Yamaha YFZ 450 front suspension and Suzuki LTZ 450 to modify.

My buggy uses the Trailmaster wheels and hubs. Does anyone have input as to whether this has the same wheel bolt pattern as the above atv's? What is the actual bolt pattern of Chinese buggies?

The other option is to just completely swap to YFZ or Raptor shocks, hubs, a arms.

i am positive on the honda race quads and pretty sure on the rest that the front hub is 4/144. the rears may differ. i think honda maybe 4/110 and maybe the others too, but yamis i think tend to throw in 4/115's.

Jersey,

So are our GY6 buggies 4/110?

Which model quad do you think is best suspension to swap to?

That's right, almost all GY6 buggies use 4x110mm on the front.

the earlier buggies had 4/110 front and rear, 1 example is the first carter talons. yerfs had 4/110 rears. crossfires have 4/110 fronts and 4/137 rears. about all newer TM's HH's 150's 250's, 300s etc are the same. kawasaki bayous had this lug pattern out of the box. the problem w/ the stock wheels is they had 9" fronts and 10" rears. the 9's are problematic for tire selection. there arent many, out of all the tire company selection i deal w/ there maybe 2, one being kenda and the treads are identical. i've been selling alot of ITP A6 pro's to alot of buggy people especially since the race thing started. they have the right patterns and offsets.

The question would be if the rear hubs of Yamaha YFZ 450, Raptor 700, LTZ or the Honda would fit on the buggy splines to adapt those wheels.

Whatever bolt pattern for whatever make and model you could ever want to know about.

I'm running some factory honda rims but I'm lucky my kinroad has 4/110 on both ends. All of the kawi bayous had 4/137s except the 250s had 4/110s on the front. Suzukis are the most oddball collection of weird bolt patterns, I'd stay away from them. If you are lucky enough to live around some bug boggers we pull the factory rims off pretty fast to put 12s (and now 14s) on bikes with bigger tires. You can normally find stock rims dirt cheap. The ones I got was given to me.

It looks like my rear 10" are 4/136 (4/137)
and my front 8" are 4/110

Going back to your original question, here's an idea of what a front suspension swap would involve, widening and fabbing the quad front end onto your buggy is about the simplest method to go with.

Thanks for the link.

After looking at the fact that none of the big brands seem to use 4/110 hubs to fit my existing wheels on front except for old small engine models and 4x4's, I will likely find a way to attach to the existing hub somehow.
