Possible new American Sportworks 150
I'm talking with a guy about his American Sportworks 150. He says he put on a new K&M performance clutch(never heard of it), changed rollers for low end and rejetted for Uni but no exhaust mod. That's still stock.
If we do any trading, what's the best aftermarket mods I can do to make this little thing pull the hills around here in "Mountain City". Some hills are pretty steep as we have miles of trails around here plus we want to incorporate this to the Racing Dreamz Rally Kart program. If anyone can give me some ideas or suggestions on how to make this thing a beast with out breaking the bank, I'd appreciate all the help we can get. Also if we get this. any buggy business that would like to 'donate' parts will get a tax deductible receipt for everything plus their logo on the buggy. Thanks in advance. Attached are pics of the buggy. |

if the previous owner already changed rollers to lighter ones that's the cheapest and easiest mod for helping with climbing. You can change the sprocket did you count how many teeth where on it ? its probally a 31,32, or 39 tooth sprocket. The exhaust can be modded by drilling it, or buy an aftermarket one such as hammerhead, or jersey devil makes them for half the price. I personally own the hammerhead and like the sound and performance I get from them. A head and cam package will probally help the most with a good exhaust and tuned carb. To go even further there is big bore kits and stroker cranks.

Thanks for the reply. It's been such a long time since I was into the little buggies, I've forgotten so much. I dont know what weight the rollers are. The sprocket is stock, I did ask the guy that. I'll probably drill out the muffler like I did with my HH 400. Works just as good. I've also got another muffler but it has a 2" intake which would have to be modified. It's a SuperTrap.
So we'll see what happens if we get this. Thanks again. |
