Question 2016 TM XRS300 - Now for the mod questions!

Now that I am the owner of a new Trail Master 300 XRS, any info would be great.

I Would like to do some modifications, such as:
a) replace tires with a more road worthy type
b) replace the radiator water thermostat with one that opens at a lower temperature
c) replace the radiator fan thermostat switch with one that switches at a lower temperature
d) add a secondary water circulation pump

I think I have (d) figured out, timer and everything, but am working under the assumption that the water pump allows normally open flow when not running.

As you can aleady tell, my purchase is probably antithetical to the norm of Dune Buggy/GoKart off road use.
So, I am not looking to make it a better off-road vehicle, but a (slightly) better street vehicle.
And yes, I am aware of the (almost) impossibility of registering it as a street legal vehicle, but in this specific use, none of that matters.

Already replaced the muffler bolt with a longer one and a spring (and washers) on each side of the mounting bracket to reduce vibration. Works great. Without it, this thing rattles your teeth!

Adding the running lights and turn signals next.
The XRS does not come with the turn signals, just a horn, headlights, and tail brake light.
But I didn't care about polished aluminium wheels, leather seats, et cetera, and I could wire up the lights for much less than the extra thousand they wanted for the XRX model.
Plus it gives me more money for the modifications I want to do.

ps - it was pushing 57 mph on the last road run test; thought they were limited... Might have to get the gps out and verify the speedo.

If you're getting 57mph out of a 300, I don't think you need to mod a thing.

i would say check it w/a gps. granted the S might be a little lighter than the X, ive only gotten 54mph out of one on the street w/ the wind pushing me. 57 seems a bit quicker than the norm.
