Default belt help please

I bought a used yerf dog with a 6.5 tec moter on it. the guy told me it needed a belt so i took it off and started looking on line. The problem that i have run into is the belt that was on the kart is a Comet industries 203581 and everything that I find on line says it should be a 203591a. Is it possible that he had the wronge belt on it? Now I have no idea what to order.
Thanks for your help

The letter designation at the end doesn't matter as long as the primary part # crosses over. Edited!! My apologies ---just saw what you're referring to. The belt you have is for a 20 series symetrical TC. To figure out if its the wrong one, look at your pulleys. if both sides of the pulleys are angled, then it's the correct belt. If the engine side of the pulley is flat and the other side angled, then you need the 591.
I picked up a PIX --e-bay link below ...BTW, since no one posted to your earlier ? about plugs, i'm running a champion N4C in mine.

Ok now im confused even more. The pullys have angle on one side and flat on the other. the belt that I took off has an angle on one side and flat on the other. The thing is it has printed on the belt comet 203581 4203- 363
could this be the wronge belt and it wore the side on an angle?
my local napa has the 203591a belt in stock, just want to make sure I get the correct one because it is kind high at 47 dollars.

You have a #30 series asymetrical clutch- go to the chart and measure the center lines of pulleys (verify size of driven) to verify the correct length. $49. bucks!!!! that's robbery- when you get the right belt number order one on-line for about $20. unless you just have to have one right now, also Northern tools sells belts cheaper than $47.

I think you're correct in your assumption that the pulleys wore the belt down to flat on one side as the number on it is definitely for a symmetric "V" belt. Ditto on metal's recommendation, $47 is steep! I think it took 2 days from the day I ordered to the belt arriving at my door for the one in the e-bay link.

tsc = tractor supply co. if you see "SC" it's usually referring to www.*************.com
