Default Joyner 250 Windshild

Hey all you Joyner 250 folks. Would anyone other then me be interested in a Lexan Windshild and some lexan replacement body parts?

You could get the side body panels made out of some of the lighter stuff and cut some weight. i have an 09 with the aluminum panels and I think I could drop some LBS's going lexan. It would still be tough, that stuff can take a heck of a shot. Not to mention it's clear. You cold paint it up on the inside like an RC car body. The stuff comes with the sprayed on paint mask on the inside, it's perfect for painting. You just draw you design on it with a sharpy and cut-n-peel.

You doing just the windshild or the body as well? What about the frount end, you going to close that up as well?

Lexan is stout- Caution- when heated with bends becomes brittle and spider-webs pretty easily.

I'm not going to put any heat bends it it. All the front end parts will be flat.
The material is really flexable, if it won't bend for the sides then I'll just make it in two parts. There are enough bolt holes to keep it in place.
The nose pice is the only part I think will be challenging, but I think i can work it out. The wind screen is the key, It'll make winter riding much better.

There may be issues with airflow to the radiator. Consider building only a half screen.

Good point GX 150.
I don't run a top on my buggy, and the sides are open, hope that lets it suck enough air. I'll have to keep an eye on the temp gage to make sure it dosen't clime to high. I feel like the fan does most of the work, I ride in the woods with my son so we're never really going that fast and it seems to keep cool. Then again I just got it this winter so I have no idea how it'll do in the summer. To be honest, I will most likely only run the windshild in the winter.

Nope just gonna do the windshield the sides are aluminum I can't see it saving much weight. If I wanna go lighter I got an inside track on something more state of the art and extremely light. I am gonna net the windows and add some additional padding and safety features. We had a rollover a week ago and broke my daughters elbow.

Thanks for the link SWT.
I like the look of that stuff, I think I will own a role of that in the near future.

A few days ago I put the lexan windshild on the Joyner. Wile i was at it I put the soft top on as well. I went out riding in the new snow last weekend. It was about 10 degrees out. I had to let it idel for about 10 min before it warmed up.
It was awesome! The top and the windshild catch a lot of the heat from the raidator and heats it up a lot when you putting arround in the woods. Puls keeps the branches out of your face. Temp never really went up much past mid way. You coulden't run it like that in the summer it would overheat.
I think I could box in the front end down by your feet with that racing plastic.
