Default cn 250 variator rollers

So i recently purchased a baja dune 250, and am just going through normal repairs. well I opened up the variator and found its full of grease, is this normal. I know on the 150 cc models everyone says not to use grease. And also I weighed the rollers and they weigh 30 gm, is this normal it seems heavy. If anyone knows please share thanks Jason

Stock 250CC variators usually have heavier rollers in them and it is recommended to grease them lightly. Sounds like you have a lot of grease in there. Eventually it will get all over the place and may wind up on the belt. I have found that a little grease goes a long way and keeps the variators a bit quieter and allows the rollers to last a bit longer. I also lightly grease the crankshaft and the rubber cylindrical bushing that the variator rides on. This is recommended in the manual.
