Hi everybody. I am new here and trying to rebuild a spiderbox with a honda 11 hp on back. Wish me luck or is this just craziness.

Welcome. I love Mississippi, have some in laws in Lauderdale.

I think we all have considered changing out the GY6 for the cheaper industrial engines, but this is the first one I have seen actually done.

The biggest drawback to using the industrial engines is the rev limiter, the stock GY6 revs well past 6k RPM, whereas the industrial types only rev to ~3600 RPM, which limits your top speed.

Welcome aboard. The change is not too crazy, it's been done a lot, don't really see them on the forums though. i think it's more done by guys who get used up 150 buggies who don't want to bother with fixing the 150 and find it simpler to pop an industrial on it with an "old school" clutch or jackshaft and comet tav setup. I see rides done like yours a lot on craigslist and youtube.

stock motor was shot plus missing a lot of electrical necessities
