Default Urgent-anyone checking the forums today?

Well my childs is heartbroken..

Santa surprised him with a brand new Hammerhead Torpedo and guess what it won't start!!!!!!!!!!!

I should have known when I picked it up the gas line was leaking so they replaced it and the spark plug needed to be replaced.

Does anyone have any idea on how I can get this started?????

It did run on choke for about 5 minutes and then died and will not run anymore.

It could be flooded. Remove the spark plug and make sure it is dry. While the plug is out, turn the key and run the starter for a few seconds about 5-6 times. Put the plug back in and try to start it. Be careful installing the plug. The head is soft aluminum and the threads can strip easily.

It's a pull start so should I take the plug out and try pulling it 5-6 times and then put the plug back in?

What's weird is that it started right up this morning after sitting for 3 weeks and I left it on choke for about 5 minutes and as soon as I moved it over to run it just died and will not start again.

Yes, pull the cord a few times to "flush" it with the plug out. if you can put the back end up on stands, get it running choked, then try giving a little extra gas as you switch to run. if that does work, you may just need to adjust the idle speed a little bit higher.

As stated previous it sounds as if it is flooded. Choke should not be on for more then 3 minutes and that is if it is 20's or below. That is a great engine and should not take more than 3 pulls to start. Sounds like the dealer did not do the proper prep before letting it out the door. There is a whole check list we have to sign off on to send in with warranty to Hammerhead. Make sure the toggle switch on dash is in ON position with key on. I would also check the oil if not already so done. If still having problems give me a call 662-301-1563 and we'll try to get you running.

Got her running! Seems like it's still bucking though so I am going to try and run it for a while and get some of this gas through.

Thank you all very much! Smile is priceless on the little guy!
