2006 Joyner 250cc Viper issue with Tranny
Hello all. This buggy is new to me and was not running when I got it. I finally got her running and put in a new clutch. She goes into reverse nor problem and also High gear. Once I lout it into Low, upon acceleration it grinds like it's not lined up or something. Is this just an adjustment? Hopefully.
Is there a downloadable service manual for these? Thanks in advance! Leo |

I only know what i've read here and on other forums about those particular joyners. believe there is an adjustment nut or cable adjustment that should solve the problem.

Took the cover off to verify the cam piece didn't jump gears, couldn't really tell as the cam came off with the cover. Had to wire wheel clean the shaft so it moves freely now. Lined up the dots and put the cover back on using a very small amount of rtv. Changed the oil as it looked like black water. Adjusted the cable at the rear so it hits each gear as it's lined up on the gear selector.
Will give it a go again after work as I wanted the rtv to fully cure. I honestly think it's internal but hoping for an easy fix. |

Tranny still making the noise. Looks like the gears will be messed up as well as probably the fork. I also installed the Uni Filter and changed the main jet from 110 to 130, lot's of smoke. Is this normal? I got the Uni Filter, Elbow and 125/130 jets as a kit. Maybe I should try the 125 instead.

White smoke or black smoke?
White/blue will be burning oil, possibly from rings or stem seals. Black smoke is too much fuel, try the smaller jets.

It's too much fuel for sure. I'm going to try the 125 next. I'm a sea level so should my main jet be larger or smaller? The stock one that came out was 110.

If all you did was to add a uni you didn't have to go so high on ur jets. maybe a 118 jet may do.

The jets (125 and 130) came as a kit (Uni, elbow and jets), so i assumed that if you went with a Uni, you had to replace the jet.

Hole saw! Aside from that, port matching the pipe is important for flow, but not really necessary unless you are running high hp engine.

How about the FMF 1-1/4 Muffler. It's a decent price too.

That works too, the hole saw method is generally low/no cost, and that was why I suggested it.

How do you remove the CV Joints? I need to replace one of the boots. I searched and found nothing.
