Default the weak link

Something i have found peculiar to the yerfs is what I can describe best as the next weak link. it seems that when you upgrade one aspect it causes another related part to fail. The next weakest link in the chain. This is a prime example, I upgraded the rear axle and look what broke next, one of my rear hubs! that hub twisted clean off. Luckily my safety equipment did it's job so there was no injury I walked away with a busted hub and a wasted wheel.
So for those of you that have upgraded your rear axle, keep a close check on those hubs!

Hey Ckau- need one of these? looks like you're okay-can't really see the expression on your face, but I don't see any casts or slings. Gotta love seatbelts and those of us that use them.

thanks for the offer MSm but I have replacements. On the hub that broke, I had already beefed up the spline shaft but not the spokes, so back to the drawing board. That's not me in the skid-steer. thats my buggy partner, Van. This isn't the first tIme we have had to hoist a buggy back to the shop. That skid steer is real handy . My safety equipment did it's job I use a G-force 5 point belt system with arm restraints and a neck collar. Anyone who doesn't use a good belt system simply hasn't got hurt YET! It's a small price to pay considering what can happen. These buggy don't roll over gracefully, they trip and slam the ground hard! I fracture two ribs summer before last flipping a dazon single with stock belts. I have flipped the yerf numerous times only to suffer hurt pride. I can't ever stress enough about the importance of having good safety equipment and using it!

ckau, weren't you and your son once doing a yerf/2-stroke swap?

If I'm mistaken, I apologize, but seems I saw your handle on such a post once, then it dropped like a hot tater...what happenned. I hate finding old posts like that with no conclusion....I for 1, wanted to see the lil smoker kick some butt!

Sorry to have butted in, and jacked your thread....but curious minds gotta know.

No that wasn't us. Wish it were so, I always thought an old elsinore 250, 2 stroke would be the ticket in a buggy!
