Default Thinking about a BuggyMasters SummerFest. Would you go?

Hi guys. I'm considering putting together a meet called BuggyMasters SummerFest. It would be hosted at Carolina Adventure World in central South Carolina. It is a fantastic facility with tons of trails, bud bugs, circle track, a few motocross tracks, a drag strip with timer lights, powerline trails and on site camping.

I need to know what kind of interest there is in putting this together (i.e. if I have it, will you come?)

Vote in the poll of this thread.

For directions, go to google maps and put in your address as the start and type Carolina Adventure World, SC for the destination.

The ole ticker just ain't what it used to be. Activites like that, in mid summer are "iffy" at best for me.
I'd probably say no as a general rule, but if a cold front with cooler temps, & clouds, possibly some rain, I could change plans with a days notice. But I only live about 2 hours from there.

How about a "Polar Bear" meet, in January, my ticker won't be any better, but I can put on more clothing, and cope with lower temps, than the blisterring summer temps.

I'll have to log in as undecided.

Any idea of how many days?.Would cost $125. a day for my family to drive + campsite fee- Do you know of any other buggies that have been there? I haven't physically gone there to check it out cause they want you to pay $10. a head just to see it! Have they given you a group rate of any kind or is that the purpose of the poll to see how many would go to get a decent rate?

Well we may be able to do it in September or something. I talk to the owner when I was there a few weeks ago and I feel like I could get a group rate. This is the kind of feedback I need as I put this together.

We have a place here in NC called Cape Fear ATV & MX Park and its only $10 a day per person w/ camping fees included $125 seems a bit steep just to ride

Default How about regional meets?

I would if not so far away! I know here in the mid-west we have a few atv parks and there is always the dunes at Wenoka, Ok. Maybe if you have a good turn out there could be a regional meet every year. I've only been on the forum for a couple days but there seems to be a fairly decent coverage of members nation wide. You could have East Coast, Mid-West, and West Coast.

What about the WV - Hatfield~McCoy Trail System.
It might be a little more centrally located so more people could attend.
Pinnacle creek looks good!

If this is still in the works, I may MAKE it happen, for me, at least. You only go 'round once, so you may as well enjoy it. Get back on some positive planning, and MAKE it a go. If you set it up, someone will come. I'm doing the same with the DP Monthly Ride. If 1 other buggy shows up, then we'll have fun, heck I'm gonna Have fun if I'm by myself.
Go forward with the Carolina Adventure World ride, I'll bet more it will work. Just don't put too much money into it, plan it as a weekend for your family, and let everyone else be invited at their own expense. No trophies or prizes...just good ole FUN!

Do it, and I'll do my best to attend. Or do a Fall event, and I'll work even harder to attend!

Buggy country will likely be having their fall ride at CAW. If this is something ya'll are really wanting to do, may cordinate the dates. We have 20-30 machines at our rides. Anything from 150's to rzr killers

CAW sounds good to me, I might ride over for the day, but won't be staying over night. Afraid I just won't fit into the social circle.

BC is another forum and CAW is a riding park. http://www.carolinaadventureworld.net/

You have multiple buggy forums. Some forums wont allow you to post about other forums, some are more concerned with the growth of the sport. I aint sure which this site is but if the second, feel free to block out BC and the names I'm bout to add.

You have buggymasters, buggynews, buggycountry, minibuggy, dtsfab, offroadfabnet, minilites, and Pirate4x4 are just a few of the forums I vivit and post in daily.

Most of them dont cater to the china buggy but most dont mind them either

Buggy Country is a site that was established a while back, and has been made the home for most of those banned from BuggyNews recently. There are quite a few members there, that weren't banned from BN as well, heck I joined the place too. But IMHO, it is NOT a site for children, ladies, or anyone offended by profane language...

No kids allowed on most the sites I mentioned. But there are at least 4-5 women on BC including my wife, diggers wife, and one of these forumsowners ex wife and daughter. You should expect conversation over there to sound bout like it would in 99% of shops in this country that dont allow children to hang out.

It also might be woth mention that along with big boy talk, you've had no less than 18 engine swaps in the last 12m and at lest 2 swaps and 2 custom buggies being built at anyone time

Not saying anything against the skill levels on the site Chuck, or the amount of heavy duty work being done. Just cautioning those around here, at this site, that do have young children who read the postings, that they may not want them to have access to the language, smileys, etc. on BC.
There's not much there, that y'all can say or do that surprises me, and nothing that I'll let offend me, simply because I've been around the block, and been associated with much harder folks than y'all have. Can't say I enjoyed their company, but at the time it came with the territory.
I joined over there, when I found out you, and several other freinds were there, not knowing the general atmosphere, beforehand. I really have no need for the skill levels shown there, as I beleive mine meet or excel anything I've seen. But in an effort to be polite, I do occassionally post, or comment when appropriate.

I'm not trying to sound conceited, or above anyone on BC. I've just reached a point in my life, where it is easier to do what I do, with a much more low keyed group of folks, who not only enjoy their children's involvement, but encourage it. Even if I do come off as an old curmudgeon, to some of the teenagers, who can be a little harder to teach.

And if anyone wants to join BC, for additional learning opportunities, from some excellent craftsmen, then I say go for it. At least they won't be surprised by what they will eventually see in print.

I had hoped you wouldn't take it wrong, because no offense was meant. And this is the only site I would post such a thing on, simply because of the youth activity here. This site IS meant to further the sport of Buggying, that is why it supports youthful activity...least that's the way I see it. I may be wrong, and if so, should be corrected by the admin immediately.

No hard feelings Chuck, PARTY ON...

I take zero offence bro. It aint for children. Our rides on the other hand include the whole family. You have kids sites, family sites, and sites that have no filters. Vey few of the sites I mentioned, are for kids. On sites like this or bn you act accordingly. Around kids or family, you act accordingly.

With all do respect, your skill meets or exceeds anything on any site you visit. Your good at what you do.

You also dont need to be a member on most of the sites I mentioned to read the forums. Every site I mentioned adds it's own twist. But if you've never heard of a jeffco or rpm, 930 or bus, plunge verse non plunge axles, why you would want a-arms over trailing or vise versa........ Well you ought to go visit some sites and do some reading. Even if just for kicks and giggles for educations sake.
