Default 250ss Drive Belt Replacement

My drive belt broke after three years. I have the new Mitsuboshi belt. What is the secret to installing the belt?

Default my way.

Slip it on the clutch pulley first , then with screwdriver slip the belt on to the variator shaft while holding the variator from coming loose. Then put the other half of variator on and washer and nut and tighten her up... done..... others will chime with there way and you choose whats best for you.

Thanks. Was not sure if there was a way to replace belt without removing variator. Belt change on my old snowmobile was much easier.
