Best Replacement Belt Mid XRX
I have a 196cc Trailmaster Mid XRX Buggy that needs a new drive belt. Where is the best place to get a replacement belt? Surely there is someone who makes a better, perhaps Kevlar, belt for it. Suggestions?

Contact tom with Syc powersports. His banner is on this page. I wouldn't get kevlar i would get a gates powerlink.

No problem, I don't know a whole lot about these buggies but what little I do know I learned on this forum and from Tom the owner of Syc powersports. He is very nice and really knows these buggies, and will take the time to help you out. And I think he gives a discount if you are a member of this forum. Good luck with your buggy. What part of the world do you live in.

Just curious why you avoid kevlar and recommend the Gates. At some point I will need a new belt and was leaning toward kevlar so I always want real world input and experience.

Slest kevlar belts are great and very tough. But you need a weak point so if something unforseen happens in the cvt. Wouldn't you rather lose a belt than a clutch, variator or something worse.

Thanks reb. That is a VERY valid point. I have the Gates on mine now. Its what came on it and Ive had no issues at all with it so I may just have to rethink that Kevlar.

The kevlar can tolerate a lot more heat than a standard belt but that's not nessarily a good thing. If the cvt is getting that hot I would want belt failure as a indicator rather than cook some bearing , gears or gall a shaft. plus the kevlar will wear down pulley surfaces faster than the standard. though all belts in time, wear ridges in the pulley surfaces, the kevlar require frequent replacement of the variator and clutch pully.

thanks ckau. Another great point. I would much rather do regular belt changes than do regular pulley changes. That would be like a car that you put some gas in every time you stop to fill up the oil. Just backwards. So do you also advocate for the Gates belt?

That one is already done. Slowly getting it where it should be. After tax return it should be good to go.

835-20-30 if you have 10 bolts in transmission cover, and 743-20-30 if you have 8 bolts.
