tecumseh 6.0hp wont start
I was riding my kart, The engine was running fine then it shut off.... I thought it was the ignition coil so I replaced it and used a business card to gap it. Then as i was changing the ignition coil I seen gas start dripping at a fast rate so I pulled my gas line off and boom there's a hole!! Now I notice the when I push the carb. primer bulb the gas shoots towards the air cleaner and also has been as I can see by the looks of the brand new filter! So now I'm at the point of it not starting!! any help?

sounds like your float may be stuck. Have you torn apart the carb yet to see how things look in there?

Could it be the mixed up fuel lines like it was with me?

Yea I had a guy put a carb kit on it but that might not mean much but the float doesn't seem stuck..

when you push the primer bulb, it is supposed to shoot gas into the air tube. That's what it is for. Have you pulled the plug out and set it against something metal, and verified that there is spark while you are pulling the cord?

okay i just went out and pulled her with the plug grounded to the ohv and i see a little blue spark meet the gap on the plug. its not insane spark tho

Also you say its supposed to shoot the fuel towards the air filter?

not necessarilly to the filter but when you hit that primer button, it squirts fuel into the intake. That's how it primes since you don't have a choke. It shouldn't just run out of there in a steady stream when you aren't touching it. If it is/does, your float system has a problem.

Yea it only squirts when u prime it with the bulb it doesn't constantly flow at all..

I got another question Too if i may....... My honda clone 6.5 idles to high it seems to engage my 30 series clutch on idle which i think is about 1800rpm and the clutch engages at 1800rpm im thinking. How can i make the idle lower? Thanks!

For you tecumseh, that is what it is supposed to do. If you have fuel, and you have spark, the only thing left to make it run is compression. Your description from above may suggest that your top end is gone (i.e. rings).
For the cone, there is an idle adjustment screw on it. Should be able to see it from standing behind the engine. |

On the clone for the idle!

you should next check for an air leak. That will cause your idle to go up as well. Inspect around where the carb bolts up to the intake. If you have carb cleaner, while the engine is running, spray the carb cleaner around that mount and see if it idles down.

Yea man, the guy who hooked the throttle up had it slightly pulling on the lever so it was revving, I took the bracket he made off and moved the wire forward, it won't Go To Max throttle now? Its like the wire cant pull It back enough...:/ so I guess I'm gonna try and maybe shorten the wire some, I'm not sure, any ideas?

Hey man, One more stupid question but it will help me knock out 2 birds with one stone, since I just think the Tecumseh isn't worth trying at this point hehe If you can man, explain how to wire the kill switch into the existing kill switch wires on the clones switch cause i have a wire hooked into the wire that grounds but it doesn't work :/ Maybe some pics of how you wire them would help
