Default Tecumseh out of business?

I recently heard that Tecumseh went down at the end of 2008. This is just amazing to me. How can a company dominating the go kart field go out of business? Part alone should keep them alive.

Someone is likely going to buy them. Seems like a lot of potential money on the table.

they have been going under since early 2008, most all the go kart and small buggy manufacturs have had to go to other vendors for engings.

trying to get parts from tec. is a nightmare, its what warhouse has any left

It's been almost a year since they went out of business. Seems there would be a ton of money to be made for someone that buys them just for the sake of the parts needs.

Really? I was under the impression that they had plenty of parts. That's why it didn't make sense to me. If that's the case then the places that have parts could be charging a premium....and likely will!

Tecumseh and Comet Industries were acquired by CPC in Wisconsin. No worries, according to their site, parts will be available.
