Default High performance CDI and Ignition Coil...

Please educate me. What is the difference between standard and high performance CDI's and ignition coils? What are the advantages or disadvantages of high performance CDI's and coils? Do they do anything for an otherwise stock GY6 engine? Can and should a high performance coil be used with a standard CDI? I searched but did not find an explanation. Comments please...

Hp coil can be used with standard cdi it gives a better spark and better starting. Hp cdi allows your motor to rev higher rpm's wich its good if your motor is hooked up to tolerate the high rpm. If your motor is stock stay with standard (stock) cdi.

Thanks Miamieddie for your reply. Your answer is exactly what I wanted to know. I plan to use my buggy to teach my grandsons (ages 10 and 12) to drive and to ride logging roads on our property with my wife. A stock well running engine will serve me fine. So I'll order a high performance coil to replace the standard one and stop at that.

If you need more power you can get it with cvt mods intake and gutting out your exhause. Without touching your motor. Its the cheapest way. Its how i do it. I believe in keeping my motor stock for reliability purpose. Look at my signature below to get an idea...Eddie.
