Default Need Help On Specs

Wondering what the valve (tappet) settingare are for a GY6. I got numbers of .003 for intake and .004 for exhaust cold. That seem a little tight for me. Can anyone confirm what the clearance is. Thanks again.

I've actually tried many different clearances and anything more than .003 on both is too noisy for me.

Ok, those specs are close to mine. I think I will follow yours. Always saver to be a little lose than too tight. What do you have for head bolt torque numbers.

Then maybe the .003 and .004 are the correct clearances that I got out of my manual. Will decide when I get it apart and check it.

Intake is .003" Exhaust .005" . Remember these are air cooled engines so you want more clearance in the exhaust to keep the valve on seat to cool.

I've found that they get tighter over time, I set both of them at .005 and when it acts like it doesn't want to start easily I know it's time to reset them again.
