yep that and the carbide are the same machine. It's an American Sportworks 7150. Tons of info here on it. Do a search for carbide and you'll be reading for a while.

The first basic mods people do to the buggies are rollers, torque spring, moding the exhaust and intake with rejetting. There are cams available as well as big bore kits, stroker cranks, performance cdi's and coils ect. It all depends on what is on it and what kind of drivind you will be doing eg. low torque for hills, speed for flat ridding. Most want the best of both, and a happy medium can be reached. You will need to know what is already in the buggy. Some buggies as of late come with the light rollers and heavier torque spring. Also some have a less restricted exhaust. TOM

No the rollers are not marked. I use a gram scale to measure weight. The torque will be color coded. Natural is stock 1000, yellow is 1500 and I've been seeing some buggies come with the yellow and 12 gm rollers. TOM

now on the exhaust side, will gutting the stock muffler be too much loss in back pressure or can these engines handle it?

The last 2 carbides I looked at had a fairly non restricted exhaust as compared to a blade carter or older hammerhead. On the older buggies the exhaust tip was at most 1/2" so you would open it up to about 1 1/4" and the exhaust would flow as much as possible. This made a big differance. On the carbides I have seen the internals look identicle to the blades and like, however the exhaust tip was I believe 1 1/8". If you were to remove the internal baffles it will sound like a broken exhaust. The best I've seen for the carbides would be the universal FMF. This will give you better flow and sound good. TOM
