Default Skipping/slipping problem, help

Hello,

Was just out for a little ride on my 250 hammerhead, noticed that when I put it in low gear it would make a knocking sound every 5 seconds or so, sounded like it was skipping or slipping. It works perfect in high gear or reverse. Do anyone have an idea of what could be causing the problem.? Thanks in advance.

Jamie.

Sounded like it was coming from the bottom, back and in the centre, if that makes any sense to you.

could be wrong, but sounds like you may have a gear with a missing or broken tooth

I was thinking that also, but then thought that if it was a gear, wouldn't it skip/slip in both high and low gear.?
