Default BuggyMasters Review: Coolster Challenger 250cc

Coolster gets a big fat A+ for looks with this awesome looking single seater mini buggy. Easily one of the best looking mini buggies ever made. In addition, it is very well built and has a very solid feel to it. It is also a super running machine with a CN250 engine that runs excellent with power across the board and a top speed of nearly 50 mph.

Unfortunatley, all of these excellent pros are very much overshadowed by one major weakness: the suspension. They could have hit a major home run on this machine had they put some shocks on it that actually had some rebound control. The lack of which makes this machine very unstable and with the awesome powerplant, some may consider it down right dangerous.

In a straight flat line or on lower speed trails, this machine rocks. Get much out of that environment and you better hang on and have a heck of a lot of experience. Without the rebound in the shocks, this thing is all over the place with just minor bumps to set it off.

The only other downside is the mastercylinder made you feel as if you need to pull up on the brake pedal. It just didn't return very well. Didn't hold the brakes on but you felt like it was since it didn't spring back.

These are also apparently pretty rare machines. The manufacturer left me with the impression that they only make these in 2007. I know Coolster made them and also a company called Lance sold them.

I should not that at least one person has replaced the shocks and reported good results.

Pros: Very well built machine. Plenty of power. Excellent Appearance. Awesome trail machine.

Cons: Out of control stability when you push it hard. Brakes were wierd. Hard to find.

Overall BuggyMasters Rating: 7 out of 10

Could have been higher had they spent a few bucks more on better shocks.
