What are good mods for Carbide
i decided to mod out my buggy i was wondering what good mods to start. I ride on kinda rough terrain but not really like this some slopes here in there. I notice that the carbide does not have good acceleration and i wnt it to have a litte more power and torque.

Go with a UNI Filter first as it is cheap and effective. You can change your clutch as well and that is also a great bang for the buck but be careful what you wish for. Clutch mods give in one area and take from another. To what extreme depends on how far you modify it and which direction you go. Call Tom at SYC Powersports and tell him what your goals are and he can steer you in the right direction.

Buggymaster is correct. Start with a UNI filter, open the exhaust and rejet. The rest of the mods depend on budget and how far you want to take the performance gains. The cheapest mentioned above will noticably increase your performance since you will be allowing more fuel and air in and more exhaust out.

Do a 180 big bore and stroker crank from Tom. That will wake it up, I assure you!

Unfortunately the stroker crank will not fit the carbide engine since they use a hammerhead engine which uses a differant crank which does not allow for the normal GY6 crank to be used, however a 62mm big bore kit(needs case bored) along with a good cam and ported and polished head or even a 4 valve head would really wake it up. Depends on your budget though.

What do you mean by open the exaust? Do you run it open pipes or what? Thanks

No open pipes will only cost you power since there needs to be some back pressure. Depending on the year of engine. The early mufflers had only 1/2" exhaust outlet. This would need to be opened to make a 1"-1 1/4" outlet. The newer mufflers have a larger outlet but many have a converter either inside the muffler or in the pipe just before the muffler. The mufflers supplied are very restricted so the object is to make them less restriced.

So on my carbide how could I get more power out of the exaust without screwing anything up, I've heard of gutted exaust, (what is that anyway?!) oh and what size outlet do you think mine would be?

i have a 2009 carbide and i did the uni & jets, red main spring with 12g rollers. it did a good job of increasing performance. i still run the stock exhaust .....for now.
