The plug looks like a relay goes there.

I agree about the empty plug- the big blue box looks like some kind of relay for the starter since it has such a heavy gauge red wire. I've not worked or seen one of these buggies- but you have electrical I don't normally see, the 2 wires(white & red) on the right appears to be another type of relay .Does this have a remote/handheld kill switch? that's what the 3 wires (blue,white,red/black)going into the thin white part/box at the bottom looks like.

It also looks like a emtpy hole for a relay.

the carter engine/harness i have has a relay, but it's up at the instrument panel. if the kill switch wires aren't connected together (i don't have a switch) it clicks, so it's definitely part of the starting circuit. I'll check tomorrow to see what config the terminals are in and what brand/# it is.

I also have a sunl, SGA-150. harness for that is in the basement at the moment, not even sure if it's all there, i'll check that out too.

Did you just get this buggy?

Nothing in the harness pieces I have for my Sunl appears to have a relay. that isn't to say it didn't have one though. Some not-too-mechanically inclined hands took it apart before i got it.

The relay with my Carter Talon harness is a common single pole single throw automotive type. terminal configuration matches your plug, and the numeric terminal IDs and functions match the relay below.
Link below has a commonly available version. worth a shot for the price.

With it removed from my harness, I get nothing at all at when i turn the key. Pretty sure it's basically the secondary ignition circuit tied into the safety switch. Previously i stated "kill" switch when i meant the two wires on mine that at one point probably went to a brake pedal safety switch. With the relay connected and the safety switch wires disconnected from one another, the relay clicks.

it might, if the relay has a little schematic on the side of it, post a picture of it. it may not have the correct switching function for what you need. Also make sure the fuse on your positive wire isn't blown.

here is a pic of the relay box. top & mid pin power to lamps, right pin to ground, bottom pin to fused power, left pin to switch, is what the box says .
my actual connector does not have a wire on the top pin.
i am in the proccess of tracking wires to see if they match relay.
