Default 150cc GY6 starting problems

I just recently recieved a yerf-dog spiderbox go kart with the 150cc GY6 on it and I can not get it started. I can turn it over however by directly applying the 12v to the starter. Any help on why I can not get it started? Thank,

Will it not turn over by using the key?

make sure you also have power to the coil and cdi box , the best way would be to trace the key switch circuit and see whats wrong, could be a blown fuse maybe?

Thanks, I have followed the circuit and followed the directions on the following link. But I am going to get a new battery and see how that works for me.

It turning over just fine now that I put the new battery in. Turn out the old one had a bad terminal. It should be up and running once the paint is finished and the whole thing is back together.
